The 2008 District Conference will be held this year at the Nav Canada Training and Conference Centre in Cornwall Ontario, October 17, 18, 19, 2008

Registration

Due to popular demand extra packages have been added.  These packages cover the Conference Program for those arriving Saturday with one night lodging.  The rate for for a couple is $550.00 and for a single $365.00.  As of September 15th, we are also offering Saturday Day Packages without lodging, including Saturday Day with keynote lunch, $145 per person, and Saturday Day with keynote lunch and Governors Ball, $195.  These packages include all Saturday meetings and refreshments.  Review of Conference Packages:

  • Full Conference Package for two (Rotarians or Rotarian and Partner) includes 2 nights lodging- $695
  • Full Conference Package for one, includes 2 nights lodging - $495
  • Full Conference Package without lodging (Friday thru Sunday) including all meetings and meals - $225 per person
  • Saturday thru Sunday Package with 1 Saturday lodging for two - $550
  • Saturday thru Sunday Package with1 Saturday lodging for one - $365
  • Saturday Day Package with keynote lunch, refreshments and meetings - $145 per person (not on original or revised form, write in)
  • Saturday Day Package with keynote lunch and Governors Ball, refreshments and meetings - $195 per person (not on original or revised form, write in)
  1. To upgrade your room to a Junior Suite (bedroom and sitting area with pullout sofa) - add to your lodging package $40 plus tax per night ($44 per night)
  2. To include an extra person for the Governors Ball - $50 per person

Also note that Nav Canada will be handling the registration, but checks/cheques should be payable to the Massena Rotary Club Conference 2008 and credit cards (Visa and Mastercard only) will be process by the Massena Rotary Club.

President’s Representative Named

President Lee and wife Young have named their representatives at our Conference.  They are PDG Peter Snider and wife Sherry.  PDG Peter Snider is from District 5810 and lives in Mesquite, Texas.  PDG Pete was a District Governor in 2002-2003, a classmate of PDG Carter Montross.  PDG Pete has served as a Zone Trainer and is now his Zone’s Rotary International Membership Zone Coordinator (RIMZC).  PDG Pete and his wife Sherry are Major Donors to the Rotary Foundation, Benefactors and Bequest Society Members.  PDG Bill and June Hodges will be the Aides to the President’s Representative.

UN Speaker Secured

Dr. Victor Mari Ortega, Deputy Director, New York Office of Joint United Nations Program for Aids (UNAIDS), has agreed to address our conference on Saturday during Plenary III.

Lunch Keynote Speaker

Richard “Dick” Pound, Chancellor of McGill University, 20 year member of the International Olympic Committee, and former Director of the World Anti-doping Agency will discuss “Drugs and Ethics in Sports”.
