We Are This Close

We are pleased to announce that for the first time District 7040 is joining with other Canadian districts at an End Polio Now tulip campaign which will run from June 15th until the end of July.  These specially bred “End Polio Now” tulips come from Holland and will be distributed to Rotary clubs in Canada by Vesey Seeds of PEI. Unfortunately, due to border restrictions delivery is not possible to our American clubs currently.

The tulips come in boxes of 25 bulbs and sell for $25, all taxes and delivery included.  All profits (last year amounting to $13 per box sold) will be donated to Polio Plus and this money will count towards your club’s Polio Plus goal and will generate Paul Harris points, calculated on how many boxes your club sells.  We only have 400 boxes available this year, so first come first served, and since the bulbs are shipped 6 boxes to a case it would be appreciated if your orders are for full cases only.   Payment is required at the time of ordering.  Delivery will occur in mid-September, just in time for planting, and will come directly to a nominated contact person at each club who will be responsible for onward delivery to your local supporters.

This is a great opportunity to help eradicate this horrible disease while creating beauty in our communities, with the added bonus of helping you achieve your club’s fundraising goals.  It is hoped that next year we will be able to increase our allotment of bulbs and therefore expand this program to allow even more clubs to participate.
Questions and orders should be directed to Carol Cartier or Pete Burrell of the Rotary Club of Kingston, who will arrange order confirmation and delivery.  At the time of order, they will require the name, phone, and full mailing address (not a PO Box) of your club’s contact person to facilitate delivery.  Contact information is below.
