B: Including the World/Inclure le monde - PDG Paul Beaulieu
For most people, practicing inclusion is not a reflex that they have developed, due to the induced biases that we all carry within us. Rotary is no exception. Our members are a reflection of our population and we must be vigilant about this. Using examples, this break out session will serve to illustrate the pitfalls that await us.

A: Can Good Work be Done Better?
Sam Watts from Welcome Hall Mission
For many years we have assumed that poverty and homelessness could be resolved by strategies that could be described as institutionalization or marginalization.  Some of our fundamental assumptions were flawed and our strategies to address the challenges have proved to be suboptimal.  This workshop will explore how we are gradually changing from a service model based on charitable handouts to a solution-oriented approach grounded in healthcare.

A number of our District clubs have partnered with AlimenTERRE-La Corbeille, providing volunteers and donations for sorting and distributing fresh fruit and vegetables to homeless shelters around Montreal. On Sunday morning, participants will have opportunity to tour the warehouse, participate in sorting products and prepare pallets for Monday’s distribution. This service project is open to all. Separate registration for this event is required so that the warehouse knows how many people to expect. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the warehouse (at address above).
