Environmental Sustainability Initiatives Are Part Of Rotary
Rotary District 7040’s Environmental Sustainability Committee seeks to help clubs and their members advance Environmental Sustainability Projects and mindsets within our district and beyond.  To support the 7th Area of Focus is not a choice.  All Rotarians are touched by it, even those of us who are involved in projects in areas like Health, Literacy and Community Development. Rotarians need to consider the environmental impact of every single project, be critical in evaluating plans, and go back to the drawing board to ensure the best sustainable outcome for all, in all Areas of Focus.
 
SUPPORT
To address the causes and reduce the effects of climate change and environmental degradation, the Environmental Sustainability Committee is committed to supporting activities in 7040 that
  • strengthen the conservation and protection of natural resources,
  • advance ecological sustainability,
  • help to attain carbon neutrality in our district, and
  • foster harmony between communities and the environment.
  • We will help Rotarian to access resources and grants
 
ENVIROCLUB REWARDS
Get your club recognized as a Bronze, Silver, or Gold Enviro Club levels and attain certification to help attract members and funding.
 
TAKE ACTION
We encourage every club in our district to take action
  • Appoint a Sustainable Environment Officer or Chair
  • Report and showcase your projects to the district
  • Create sustainable projects and apply for grants. Make a difference by creating or supporting projects with these six key themes:
  • Biodiversity
  • Climate
  • Sustainable Living
  • Food Systems
  • Pollution
  • Circular economy
