We are thrilled to update District members with the success of our Grants Scholar recipient this year, Aidan Gurung, as she studies in Cambridge, England. She shares some of her experiences:
“Things are going quite well! I love my college at Cambridge (St Johns) and found a wonderful group of friends. My lectures for my program have been so fascinating and I’ve found myself constantly rethinking my current perspectives on international development and education. I go to my college gym regularly and started kickboxing with the Cambridge society. I hope to start Pilates in the new year. Needless to say, Cambridge has allowed me to grow both intellectually and physically (and it is my personal belief that exercising your body only expands your capacity to exercise your mind). Recently I was also lucky enough to receive the Rhodes scholarship, so I will be at Oxford next year continuing to learn about girls in education and make a difference in that space after I graduate.”
CONGRATULATIONS TO AIDAN – Receiving a RHODES SCHOLARSHIP to carry on with next year at Oxford is a phenomenal opportunity! How wonderful to see our Rotary Foundation dollars being so well used!!!
