Global Grant Scholarship – 2026-2027
District 7040 is offering one Rotary Global Grant Scholarship for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The successful candidate will receive a non-renewable scholarship of up to $35,000 USD for the first year of a Master’s degree program.

Global Grant Scholarship Details
District 7040 will offer one Global Grant Scholarship, which will be awarded according to the criteria of the Rotary Global Grant Scholarships. The successful candidate in this competition will be awarded a non-renewable, one-year scholarship to a maximum of $35,000 USD for the first year of studies at the Master's degree level in one of the seven designated areas of study identified by Rotary International:
- Peacebuilding and conflict prevention
- Disease prevention and treatment
- Water, sanitation, and hygiene
- Basic education and literacy
- Community economic development
- Maternal and child health
- Environment
Eligibility Requirements
- The candidate must meet the criteria set by the Global Grant Scholarship application form.
- The candidate must be entering the first year of a first Master's degree program.
- Must have the endorsement of a District 7040 Rotary Club.
- Must be a citizen of Canada or the US living permanently within the boundaries of District 7040.
- Must be studying outside District 7040 and outside his/her home country.
- Must provide proof of acceptance into the university program.
- Must submit a current curriculum vitae including volunteer activities.
- Must submit at least two letters of reference.
- Must not be a linear descendant of a Rotarian.
- According to RI's Conflict of Interest Policy, former Rotarians remain ineligible for 36 months after termination of membership.

NOTE: Because the Rotary International Global Grant scholarships are part of a relatively new grants system, adjustments may occur in the process. Candidates are strongly advised to consult the Rotary International website regularly: www.rotary.org

Interviews
Interviews will take place online on Saturday, May 2, 2026. Candidates may choose to be interviewed either in person or virtually.

Fellowship Opportunities – Rotary Peace Centers
Rotary International and District 7040 are looking for non-Rotarian professionals interested in increasing their knowledge of national and international cooperation, peace promotion, and conflict resolution.
Each year up to 90 fellowships are awarded competitively at leading universities worldwide:
- 50 Master's degree fellowships
- 40 professional development certificate fellowships
