The Rotary Foundation works to improve access to quality healthcare for vulnerable mothers and children, aiming to reduce mortality and enhance overall health and well-being.
Maternal and Child Health is one of; Rotary's Areas of Focus, causes that build international relationships, improve lives, and create a better world to support our peace efforts and to end polio forever.
An estimated 5.9 million children under the age of five die each year because of malnutrition, inadequate health care, and poor sanitation — all of which can be prevented.
Each of the seven areas of focus begins with a statement of purpose, followed by a list of specific goals that The Rotary Foundation uses to establish:
- Projects and activities for global grants
- Possible strategic partners for global grants
- Evaluation criteria for club- and district-developed global grants
- A system for measuring outcome for all global grants
